Concept, Fish fry and sub shop, Chantilly, VA

Dave's Seafood & Sub

A concept site for a Chantilly carryout favorite with no website: the menu drawn as the shop's royal-blue boards, online orders for pickup, rewards called scales and a form for big orders.

We designed it to show Dave's Seafood & Sub. It isn't run by the business, so it carries a preview banner and online ordering is paused.

Why a website

Dave's has fed Chantilly for years with no website, so its menu lives on the wall and on delivery apps. The concept puts the boards online, lets regulars order ahead and earn scales, and lets the shop change prices and sold-out items itself.

The menu, drawn as the shop's boards

The menu, drawn as the shop's boards

71 items on royal-blue boards with white lettering, like the ones over the counter: platters with two sides, 8 and 12 inch subs, wings by the count. Every item opens its choices and goes in the bag.

Rewards called scales

Rewards called scales

A scale for every cent, from Walk-in to Regular to Family. Scales turn into free hush puppies, money off or a whiting sub, redeemed at checkout.

Built for thumbs first

Most orders come from phones. Every page is designed for a small screen, then scaled up.
